Everybody Can Relate Too Food

Food is universal

At least, that’s what I think.

Let’s all get on the thought train for a few minutes. Because there is one thing that has been a unifying force in all of human history. Food. Food is universal because it is one of the basic needs of survival. People must eat to survive and what they eat is called food.

Therefore, food is a great way to communicate. Every culture has their own taste when it comes to food. Wether it be differences in spiciness, texture, smell, bitterness, etc.

This makes the people who eat said food different but the same. Because we all eat food!

I think that everybody can work together to get food. Hunter gatherers did it, medieval people did it, we do it. The process has changed over time of getting food but the consumption remains the same.

At this point many are probably wondering why this even matters and that I’m probably going off the rails so I will refocus here:

It is a fact that, as a human, you must consume food to stay alive (at our current level of technology) so it is something that every person has in common. Everybody has a favorite food and everybody can appreciate what food does for us.

I just wanted to dedicate this post to food and how awesome it is. Many people take food for granted and I think we should occasionally take a step back and wonder at how far food has progressed.

Thanks everybody for reading! Also, if you have a favorite food then let me know and why that is your favorite food in the comments :)

Dark Chocolate

Here is a random fact: I prefer dark chocolate over any other type of chocolate.

I’m not sure why, I think the taste is better but I’m also not a fan of bitter things. People say that dark chocolate is bitter but I don’t taste it when I eat it. I also don’t eat sweet things very often at all but dark chocolate is for sure what I would prefer.

Food Food Food

Now I love food. I can’t live without it, literally. For awhile now i’ve had an interesting relationship with food. I have had a very high metabolism for a long time now and that makes it so I can eat more then average breakfast and lunch and then go to Slaters for dinner and eat their 1 lb burger which is weighed after cooking (which is another story for a different time) and then loose weight the next day. Most people reading this will probably think, “wow thats awesome!” or “I wish I could do that, it’s so unfair!” and i’ll agree that it is nice that i’m not hauling around extra weight all day but there are some drawbacks. First of all it is not the greatest when no matter how much you eat you can’t bulk up at all. It’s a little depressing when you see others that have a good amount of weight on them and you think, “It is not possible for me to get to that state.” Then there are the people around you that say, “you should eat more,” or “don’t you eat anything ever?” To this I respond with YES! I eat all the time but nothing happens! Again if your reading this you are probably thinking, “I can’t believe this person is complaining about being skinny.” To a degree you are right, and you are wrong. I am complaining that I can’t gain an extra 20 or 30 pounds but I am not complaining about being skinny, being skinny is awesome, being slightly to skinny for my age is not awesome. This must seem like a rant now but since we have crossed the line might as well keep going. I am also fully aware that at some point in my life this ability will abate me. This is another point that people bring up, “you know, your going to get really fat one day when that metabolism of yours leaves you.” I really dislike it when people say that because with so many people saying it to me, you would think that I might be aware that it is going to happen right? I am prepared for that change to happen and I am anticipating it. So in conclusion I guess what I am trying to say is that people need to just pay attention to their own weight. I know I am skinny and I know that I am probably skinnier then you but that does not mean you need to point that fact out to try and somehow make me feel bad about something that I have no control over. To all you skinny people out there, I know how you feel!

In-N-Out v. Five Guys

Alright this a big issue in the world I think, obviously more important that anything going on anywhere else in the world. The battle between these two burger joints has been going on for centuries. (not really that was just a clever line to make it sound like I knew what I was talking about) The east thinks that Five Guys is the best and the west thinks that In-N-Out is the best in general. I am obviously the best person to ask about this because I have eaten at both, therefore my opinion is superior. In-N-Out is the better burger for a few reasons that I will go into in the next sentence. I lied it will be the sentence after this. In-N-Out delivers on service, taste, and overall pleasantness. The people are nice, the burgers taste great, and the building is recognizable and always clean. Now I will say why Five Guys is great as well. Five Guys has a great burger, lots of customization, and nice staff in my experience. However, In-N-Out is better because it’s burger is more unique. Five Guys has a great generic burger but In-N-out is something special. Although there is something to be said about the portion sizes of fries at Five Guys. That thing to be said is that they are very generous. Also the way that Five Guys restaurants will have posters and plaques on the wall of all the awards that they have won is a little braggsih in a way. In-N-Out does not brag, they have a burger that they sell, their menu is simple, and you eat it and you like it. It’s simple. So those are my thoughts. Both places have good food, but overall, In-N-Out is better.
