The Liebster Award!

Thanks to Dominic “Aul” over at http://montairyus23.wordpress.com for nominating me for the Liebster Award.!

This is what the Liebster Award is all about:

“The Liebster Award is awarded to bloggers with under 200 followers to try to promote their blog a little and also bring together a community of bloggers. The rules of the competition are as follows:

The nominated user must provide a link back to the person who nominated them. Provide 11 facts about yourself Answer 11 question set by the person who nominated you Choose 11 more people and ask them 11 questions!”

My 11 facts:

1. To start off, Halo is my favorite video game series. None have come close to beating it.

2. I extremely dislike heat and love the cold as it is easier to get warmer then it is to get colder.

3. At the time of this writing I am currently listing to the Kill la Kill soundtrack as it is currently one of the best soundtracks for any anime in my opinion..

4. I could talk for hours about the Matrix trilogy and stand firm that it is my favorite movie (series)

5. Skydiving is something that I have not done yet but want to do very much and soon hopefully.

6. Burgers are the greatest inventions in the food world that I can think of.

7. I know how to read and write in the Time Lord language Galifreyan.

8. Reading is something that I do quite frequently and I prefer sci-fi and fantasy books but I have been known to stray into others genres.

9. I am an Apple fan but am not clueless about technology, like a lot of Mac users, and have in fact built the computer that I am typing this on right now.

10. My eyes are green and I have absolutely no desire to hide that.

11. I’m usually a very cryptic and secretive person.

Aul’s questions and my answers to them listed below:

1. What book genres do you read the most?

I just realized that I answered this in my facts part, but I mostly prefer fantasy and sci-fi as my main topics, Rama for example or Pebble in the Sky but I also go for romances sometimes too. (very very rarely, and they must involve fantasy and/or sci-fi elements as well but not something like Twilight)

2. Out of any characters from fairly known books you’ve read, who do you think you resemble the most?

This is a tough one for sure. I will also take resemble to mean not just looks but also personality as well. So because of that I would have to go with Percy Jackson from Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. However my hair is blonde and my father is not a greek god. In most other aspects though I feel that he is representative of me.

3.  Out of any characters from fairly known books you’ve read, who do you wish you could resemble the most?

I’m completely fine resembling Percy Jackson but if I had to choose another then I would go with Eragon from the Inheritance Cycle series. He seems like a pretty cool dude and I would really like to be able to use magic :)

4. Are you homeschooled, public schooled, or other?

I come from the land of the public school system with all its unfairness and odd assortment of people.

5. If you had to choose between being lost in a frozen tundra or a super hot desert, which would you choose?

Frozen Tundra, no contest. I would probably die quicker and in a less painful way because after a certain point I would just feel numb and that’s better than all my skin peeling off in the desert.

6. (I feel compelled to ask this :))If you had to fight a bear, what weapons would you choose: A shotgun, a spear, or a sword?

This is also going to have to be a sword because I feel I can use it better than a spear, and even though I am well versed in the use of guns I think a bullet, unless placed properly, would not kill the bear as fast as a sword.

7. Do you consider yourself “sporty”?

Hmmm, well that’s hard. I guess it depend on what you mean by sporty. I don’t do anything very often, I’m on the computer a lot and sitting down for my work but it’s not like I never go out. I mountain bike, rock climb, kayak, go river rafting, swim, hike, go camping, hang out at the beach, and other outdoorsy stuff but I don’t really compete in sports though. You’ll have to decide if I’m “sporty” or not from that information.

8. What field of science interests you the most?

Neuroscience interests me the most. I love the brain and I really want to know how it works and if it even can be understood how it works. Maybe even find out if it can be enhanced too. That would be pretty cool.

9. If you could have any job in the world, what would it be?

If you offered me good pay for being in a think tank for new ideas of some sort then I would accept it on the spot. I love to think of new ideas for products and concepts that can benefit people. Of course I can’t think of any right now to give as an example (I should really start writing them down) but I have had some good ones!

10. Why do you blog?

I blog because I like to write down my thoughts about anything. I thought that if I liked what I thought then there must be at least one other person out there who thought like I did and would enjoy reading what I write. So I blog for that one person who is entertained or I can make their day better by writing. Hopefully that has happened, hopefully it will keep happening.

11. Out of anyone you know personally, who do you look up to the most?

Okay now this is a hard one. The thing is, there are many people who I look at for guidance or as example of what I should be doing but I don’t really look up to anyone, it’s more that I look to the side because I picture myself as equal to those around me. I also try to model myself, as silly as it seems sometimes, off of characters from books or movies. Those characters are what I aim for as they are meant to be the perfect or near perfect of the idea that they represent so my reasoning is that if I can get close to that then I’ll be doing okay. I hope that answers your question enough that it is acceptable, I can try again if you want me to so let me know and I will think upon it for a longer period of time.

Guess Who?

Well it has been one long crazy week for me but things have finally settled now again. That’s good because I can now start posting again, I’m missed this, posting my thoughts on the blog as hearing people respond and such. But fear no more!  Because for the time being, I am going to be continuing my postings! I think I’ll stick with the picture for a day and then a post the next day and then a picture after that. It allows me more time and you guys get to enjoy some pictures (well I hope you’re enjoying them)

For now I’ll get back to writing so new posts. I might be switching up my style a bit and trying to figure out what works as I’m still relatively new to this whole thing so let me know if you have any feedback about changes you liked or disliked.

A Quick Break

I’m sorry but I’m going to need to take a small break from my regular posting schedule because my work is about to get a whole lot more hectic and I need to concentrate on it more. So in short, my photo of the day’s will still be going up every other day but I may not have anything creative in between those. Again I’m really sorry but my work takes precedence in the case :(

Blog Theme

Just as a heads up, I’m going to be switching my blog theme around for the next few day to test out various themes. I thought I might need a change up from my initial theme so bear with me and let me know if there is one that you particularly enjoy :)

Testing Testing

Okay this is really just a test post. I decided that I want to try and expand my reach so I created a Twitter and Tumbler to share my posts to. I’ve never done this before so it’s a new journey for me too :) hopefully everything will go smoothly but I usually never does. That is what life has taught me but what it has also taught me is that you just have to roll with those unexpected changes and make the best of it.

Being Late

It’s not very professional. At all. If you have a job then you know being late is not an option. It has been ingrained to you since you enter the school system that being late is bad. When you exit the school system you get a job and then are not late. Besides not being a professional thing to do, being late also shows people that you are not reliable. All this is relating to the fact that I did not post anything yesterday or the day before. I would like to apologize for not giving any warning beforehand. I was busy with various presentations and I became sick two days ago as well. Both of which are not great excuses I know. I should be back to regular posting in the coming weeks unless my schedule become hectic again.

My Schedule and Some Video Games

Man, i’m approaching another busy week right now. I’m going to be preparing for a big presentation on friday for an EXPO of sorts. Judges will be there and hopefully my team can impress them. That prep work is going to be scoping to majority of my time. That . . . and Planetary Annihilation. I’ve gotten back into it recently and I have to say, very fun. However two nights ago I had an encounter with another player that was not very pleasant. I will explain the situation from my perspective. I was watching a live stream that some guys were doing of PA and they said that they would be doing one more match. I thought it would be cool if I could pay with them. I then realized that the stream was live and I had the game so I opened it up and joined their game in the lobby. I then closed the stream and started to play. It was a 3v3 with them three vs myself and two other random people. The game went great. Win or lose it was a great game. With two planet smashes it was very exciting. At the end of the game I did not get a chance total them that I had a good game and enjoyed it as the ending of the game kicked everyone out before that. I then remembered that the stream was probably still open and went onto that to tell them good game. When I typed it twitch went into a commercial and when it resumed I head the guys talking about how I was a cheater because they thought I was watching the stream the entire time. Realizing that they had been mistaken I tried to type in the chat agin to explain, however they had banned me from the chat so i could not explain the situation. I then went into write a private message to the account holder and sent that off. I have still not received a reply. What upsets me is that they had a legitimate reason to suspect me but did not let me explain my case and assumed I was guilty before hearing me out. In summary I wish people would not jump to conclusions. That went off on a tangent a bit it seems. Peace out.

Busy

For the last few days I’ve been extremely busy with multiple projects. I recently finished about 3/4ths of those projects so my workload has decreased considerably. However I seem to be running low on creativity as of late so if my posts suffer from that then I’m sorry. I think what I’ll be doing for the next bit is writing reviews for things that I have done and talking about things I would like to do. Probably a lot of short quick posts on a random thought. I hope this is acceptable to everyone and if not then tell me or take my poll to tell me what to write about.

A Realization

After going read through a few posts from other people around the site and their analyzations behind reasonings for character actions in various anime’s. I have realized something. I suck at analyzing the shows. Personally all I think about when watching a new show wether it be an anime or a tv show or a movie is wether I liked it, granted i’ll go into some reasons why I liked it but I think about feelings and emotions more then actions and counter-moves and repercussions in term of numbers. I’m more of a qualitative person, not a quantitative person. So If your looking for an in depth analysis to the video in question then i’m probably not your guy. Sometimes I might go in depth with that stuff and i’ll certainly have an opinion on a specific scene when asked about it but i’m not one to go over the super fine details when explaining how I felt about the video. I think to be able to do analyzation like what those guys were doing is pretty cool and impressive but it is just not me.

What A Lovely Paradox

Paradoxes are awesome. They simply are. If you do not like them then you need to think more about them. To me, paradoxes allow you to perceive the world in a different way, by thinking about things from a different angle. When you discover or think about a paradox then you reach a line of think that cannot progress any further, and that is impressive to me. If you have never heard of a paradox then i will give you an example. “This statement is false” the line has a variation or two but the fundamental thought is the same. If the sentence were true then it would not be true so it disproves itself in the sentence going of for an infinite loop (thats a discussion for another time) You cannot prove or disprove paradoxes, they can not happen, and if they did then i’m pretty sure it would break everything. All of time as well, forwards and backwards, instantly. If not then I have no clue what would happen next, maybe we could use it as a source of power lasting forever. That would be pretty cool. All of this is a thought experiment, thats is what a paradox is, a brain test in a sense, if you can wrap you head around one and understand it then you have just run your brain though an exercise course. So in conclusion, Paradoxes exist, while not existing at all. Have fun think about them :)
