I’ve Come To A Decision

Featured

To anyone who has been keeping up with my posts I’m sure you’ve noticed a drop in quality, whether that be in creative writing or number of posts.

This is because I have become increasingly busy over this last moth and I don’t see myself getting enough time to keep up with all the things I need to and blog as well.

Because of this, I’ve made the hard decision to halt this blog.

All my previous post will still be available for viewing in the archives and such though.

I hope that one day I will be able to start this up again and continue as it has been a lot of fun :)

To all those who read my blog, I thank you for your support and hope you know that it meant a lot to me. I wish you all the best of luck!

Traveling

Just as a quick update. I am starting my planning to go traveling in Europe later this year.

I’m very excited to go and travel around and it’s something I’ve always wanted to do. My travels will center around France as I’ve been learning French for the last few years (still not that good though) but I also plan on visiting the other nations and branch out from France.

Right now the adventure is still in the planning phase but I’m working on it with a friend as we plan to go together and explore.

Just thought I’d share that with you all :)

Forwards Or Backwards, That Is The Question

This question was posed to me: “you can travel one direction in time, forwards or backwards, which do you choose?”

I paraphrased there a bit but essentially this is a very easy question for me to answer as I have thought about it before.

(I’m also assuming that you can pick how far you want to go backwards or forwards and that you would not have a way of going back once you got there)

I would travel forward in time. No question.

Why might you ask? Well it is because I love the unknown. I think it is amazing and full of possibilities and I love to just know what will be.

Thing is, I know what has happened. I took all my history classes. It’s happened, it’s done. Now granted I do not know everything that happened. There are still a lot of mysteries that are not know like where did humans originate from and the like. There are also a lot of cool people who I would like to meet from the past like the Buddha for example.

However! The past has happened and the future has not. Therefore, the future has the most potential and that is what I want to learn more about.

Will the human race leave the earth eventually or will we never leave? Are there others in the galaxy or are we alone? Those questions are something that I think will be answered in the future.

I also think that if I traveled far enough into the future then I would be able to help them out and be a historian. I could recount firsthand some events that have happened from my time but to them is something that are lacking information on. You never know.

Of course there are also dangers to going into the future, a super virus or something that could kill me the moment I come in contact with another person or I could kill them or something else I have not thought of but I still want to go.

I don’t want to go to the past, at least the recent past because I don’t want to inadvertently change something that was vital for something. I don’t know what it would be but I don’t want it to happen.

I think that explains my stance daily well. If you have an opinion on the topic let me know in the comments. Do you want to go forwards or backwards?

You Do Not Understand Infinity

infinity-38084

“Do you believe in infinity?”

You do not understand it and I do not understand it.

Fact.

Why is this you might ask? Well I’ll explain this to you, and myself.

What is infinity? Some would say it is a number, they would be wrong of course. This is because infinity is a concept.

It’s defined as 1. “the state or quality of being infinite.” and 2. “a number greater than any assignable quantity or countable number (symbol ∞).”

I agree with this definition . . . in part.

To me, infinity is something much greater than mere numbers (sorry math people) Infinity is the idea that anything is possible.

While that may seem like a cliché I would like you to stop and think for a second about this, “Do you believe in infinity?”

I would argue that the vast majority of people do not. But I like to think that I do.

“What does this all mean, is anything really possible? and to that question I would say yes.

Infinity means that there is no limit. If something can be imagined then it can be possible. However, it may not be possible in our universe. This is to say that there are laws governing how our universe works and according to infinity there re other universes with different laws than our and in those universes something that may not be possible in our universe . . . is possible.

Let’s try an example. Is it possible that the world of Star Wars exists somewhere? If you think according to infinity then . . . yes.

You’re probably scoffing at this point (I understand it is difficult to understand) but if there is no limit then there is nothing that can’t be.

One of my favorite visualizations of this concept is dreams. I dream, you dream, everybody dreams. Wether or not we remember all of them is not uniform but at some point you have a dream that you remember. If you think about infinity, then somewhere out in the possibilities of creation that dream, that idea your brain thought up, is happening, or has happened, and that is entirely possible.

Another example I like to use and the one that I think people find is most difficult to comprehend, is that you have another you out there. Most are taught at a young age and then as they grow up that they are unique and no one else is exactly like them. However, if you visualize infinity, then you realize that the opposite is true. You are not unique per say, because there is an infinite amount of people who are exactly like you, in every way, somewhere.

Let me just re-state. I do not think that same you is necessarily in this universe but is some other form they exist.

Who knows, it is entirely possible that someone with the same life as you and the same ideas and beliefs exists but with one key difference, they have the ability to fly. Now isn’t that frustrating? Why couldn’t you be the you that can fly?

Ideas like that is what separates those who understand infinity and those who don’t. If you understand then you acknowledge that everything and anything is possible.

I don’t want to try and convert you or anything but I wanted to give you an eye-opener to the possibilities that arise when you think of infinity. Who knows, I may be crazy for thinking this but I think that the entire concept is amazing and I wanted to share it with you :)

So let me know what you think? Is this appealing to you or does you fear something like this? Let me know!

Why I Dislike “Txting”

Let me start by saying that I think technology is awesome and communication is great. We are able to do things that would have been thought impossible 50 years ago. I txt people every day, I don’t send them a letter once a week. (to see my view of all that read this post on communication)

However! With the increase in all this technology there has also been a decrease in personal interactions. Instead of walking over to a friend’s house and talking to them now a days we just txt them for a few minutes and leave it. We generally do not schedule time to meet up with someone to discuss work with them or the events of the week. We just hop on Facebook and check out their profile.

This is something that I really dislike. I like to talk to talk people, something that is not done enough with the newer generations, that have grown up with technology, in my opinion.

You can type “lol” but it will never beat hearing the sound of actual laughter. I don’t think you will ever be able to replace the feel of talking face to face through technology for long time. Maybe someday but I will probably be long dead.

So for right now, talking face to face is very important and I think that you lose something by not interacting with people regularly. Can I describe what that something is? No, I’m not inclined enough in the literary arts and the philosophical world to know how to, but that does not mean I can’t feel it.

Event though technology is great and wonderful and allows communication in amazing ways, going back to the basics and talking with someone face-to-face is something that everyone should not go without.

Cleaning For Cleanings Sake

I cleaned some stuff recently and you know the feeling that you get after you finish, it’s a feeling of accomplishment that is just amazing.

I should explain my definition of “cleaning.” It’s not just dusting and picking things up and placing then back down once I’ve dusted. No, my version of cleaning is taking everything off of a desk or a closet or whatever, putting it in two piles, one I put strait into the trash and the other I organize and put back into or onto to the place it was.

My big thing is organizing, I extremely dislike it when things are out of place and I don’t know where they are.

My genius solution to this dislike is to throw new things I get into a pile which gets messier and messier. This ends up frustrating me until the point where I get fed up with it and then go on an organizing spree which results in me feeling like I’ve accomplished something and then that results in this post.

So let’s circle back to my main point (that I think I had at one point) “Cleaning” or organizing is something that should be kept up in my mind.

Take for example, a car engine. If it is clogged with a bunch of junk it will not run as efficiently as it would if it were clean. Or take a computer or phone. If you have too many files strewn all over the place, it will slow the whole thing down. You have to organize everything and keep it that way to keep the speed of the system up.

Wherever you live, keeping it clean and organized is a necessity.

BOOOM!! Knowledge.

What’s Goin On!

It seems I’ve been away from my text-based posts for a bit and I’m sorry about that. I lost track of myself the last few days and honestly wasn’t feeling very creative.

However, to make up for that I’ll say what I have been working on recently.

I am working on another No Game No Life re-draw, hopeful I will be able to make this one look more artistic.

I fixed a problem with my website the other day that was preventing the site from being displayed, I am also getting more information onto it and learning how to do that in the process :)

I am also reading The Maze Runner. I thought I should read it because the movie is going to be coming out shortly and I figured since I haven’t read the book I should. So far it has been a fun read. I should be done with it in a day or so. I’ll probably write a review about it when I’m finished as well.

Also, excitement for Doctor Who coming this Saturday is building. I have high hopes and can’t wait to see the episode!

Well, that’s all the updates about me recently. Thanks for being patient and I hope to get back in the game soon.

Building A Website Is Hard

This is something that I have learned from a few trial and error. I started trying to make a website a week or so ago and I mentioned it in this post.

However I have realized what a big endeavor I have actually started upon. I have also realized that . . . I have a lot to learn.

At first I thought that I would have an okay time with it. I’m using Dreamweaver which is a very i-depth program to make the website but it is also one of the most difficult to get started with. However, I am determined to get aquatinted with the software and make a good end product, it just may take longer then I thought :)

Just thought I would update you all on my status. Thanks for reading!

Shopping For Clothes

This is just going to be a quick post about something that I think about every so often.

Clothes are a material that we use to cover ourselves and protect ourselves to a degree, in my mind that is their function. So then why do people spend so much time looking for the right outfit to wear!

I’ll come right out and say it, I am not a fashionable person. I just don’t understand what all the fuss is about.

I have 3 requirements for clothes that I wear: I like the color, It feels comfortable, and it fits me. Even the third requirement can be bent a bit, if the article is a bit to big I just go with it.

I don’t like to try on clothes and think that the process of buying them should be simpler then what most people I know make it out to be.

I’m not bashing people who like to go shopping and try on clothes and get the matching shoes, but please, please, don’t ask me what I think about it and if it matches. I do not know and I really do not care.

This was a bit of a rant so I hope you can roll with it.

What do you think about clothes? Do you like to try them on or is it a waste of time? Am I saying crazy things? Let me know in the comments below.

Conversing About Music And Why It Annoys Me

Now don’t get me wrong, I love listening music. I’m always listing to music. I’m listening to a song right now. (Us by She Wants Revenge) But I think that when it comes to talking about music there are some common problems that are encountered.

Let’s run though a scenario together. You meet someone new and one of the fist topics you get to is “Well what kind of music do you listen to?

Uh oh, hold up!

This is critical. Are the genres that you like similar to what they like? Or maybe you don’t care about what they think and just start listing some of your favorite genres and artists. That’s fine, but then, “I haven’t heard of them.

Well, that’s a bummer, now you have to stop and try to sort though you musical knowledge and try to find something in common. But the problem with this is you may have a lot of music in your library. I have a relatively small library at about sixteen hundred. But what if they have a larger one, there is no time to go though all your music!

Now lets say that you have successfully found some artists and songs in common. Great but now what comes next? “Have you heard of so and so? Here, listen to this one.

Oh great, now I have to listen to the entire song, and I’m probably in a hurry somewhere or in a place where I can’t really enjoy/hear the song to its fullest.

I don’t want to go though all that!

To me, music is something that you need to sit down and listen to with the majority of your attention for at least the first few times you hear the song. That way you can really appreciate the song and decide if you actually like listening to it.

Music is amazing. It can make you move. It can make you dance. It can make you feel fear. It can make you feel happy. It can make you feel despair. Music is something that is essential to living in my opinion and I want to take the time to appreciate it if it deserves my appreciation.

I don’t have a solution to this problem, at least not one that I can think of that can be solved with our current level of technology, but I did want to voice my concerns about the way that most people talk about music now-a-days.

Thanks for taking the time to read this and I hope that you can draw some similar reactions. If you have any thoughts on the topic then please leave a comment below.
