No Game No Life: Episode 5 Review

No Game No LifeI will be discussing this episode in detail that may reveal spoilers so I will make a line break after this. Read at your own risk.

Alright. This own starts out with what seems like the kids going back to their nature. Hiding in a room away from the sun playing games. A quick note, I love how the atmosphere switches from normal to really intense then to comical.  So we see more of Blank’s ability to remain unbeaten in any game. Steph gets serious as well. The first few episodes we were led to believe that she was just a useless character but it turns out that she is actually pretty smart, she just does not have a level head on all the time. I think this episode is partly the directors way of addressing her role up until this point as she has been more of a bystander in the previous episodes. I like the nod to animal girls as well when Sora says he wants to conquer them next after seeing what Steph looks like. I thought that was a good comedic element. We can see Steph trying to get Shiro and Sora motivated the entire episode as well so that is her main effort so far.

While the first two-thirds of the episode has a light feeling to it, the last one-third gets into the heart of the plot. That knowledge is key, he key to Imanity’s success. The problem is that they do not have enough knowledge and that explains Blank’s lax attitudes the last few weeks (I’m assuming that is the time frame) I could not believe that they lost the library as well, that was a little disappointing for the Imanity, but now it seems they are going to get it back, and we get to see another race.

So that ends the 5th episode. I’m sorry that this was late and by the time this comes out the next episode will probably already be put as well, but I will be keeping up with it from now on so no worries!

Feel free to leave a comment about your thoughts on the episode, I would love to hear what you thought about it!
